Duvets 240 x 200 cm
Looking for a comfortable duvet for your twin bed? Then Bath is the place for you.&Living has you covered. The standard size for a double bed is 240 x 200 cm, which is equivalent to a large double duvet. A 240 x 200 cm duvet is suitable for a mattress of 160 cm or 180 cm, but no larger than 200 cm in width and length.
How do you choose the right size?
Choosing the right size is important for a good night's sleep, especially if you share a duvet. Look for a duvet that's at least 40 cm wider than your mattress, so it overhangs your mattress by at least 20 cm on each side. This gives you enough space to sleep comfortably with a partner, and it looks great when you've made your bed.
Duvets in other sizes
Does one of you get cold easily and the other get warm quickly? Then we recommend choosing two separate duvets of 240x200 cm instead of a duvet of 240x200 cm. 140x200 cmThen you both choose the filling and warmth rating that best suits your needs. Even if your partner tosses and turns a lot during the night, your sleep will be significantly improved if you choose separate duvets.

Single double or 4 seasons duvet?
Our Vandyck duvets are available in all sizes, as single or all-season duvets. A all-season duvet consists of two separate duvets of the same size, which you can easily separate to vary the warmth rating. One part is a thin duvet and is used when it's warm in spring and summer. If it's a bit cooler at night, for example, in autumn, then the other part with a warmer filling is better. For the optimal warmth of a winter duvet, use both duvets, which you can easily connect together.
Do you live in a modern, insulated house or is your bed in a well-ventilated room? Then your room temperature likely varies minimally throughout the year, and a single duvet (240x200 cm) is sufficient. Choose a filling that suits you and offers a balance of ventilation and insulation. Then your duvet will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer.
Summer duvet
A specific variant of the single duvet is a summer duvet. In the Dutch summer, extreme heat is often short-lived. Because of this, you might find buying an air conditioner a bit much, so you're looking for other ways to stay cooler. A good summer duvet with the right filling can help with that.
A wonderful duvet is the Vandyck Summer 95 duvet with a down filling. This airy duvet with a low warmth rating lets you experience the luxurious feel of down in the summer. Does down seem too warm? Then choose the Summer Ventilation duvet with a 50% bamboo and 50% Tencel filling for a cooler feel. Do you prefer a washable duvet in the summer? Then the Vandyck Summer Silk duvet with a 100% mulberry silk filling is the best option.
These thin duvets are really intended for the warm season and are not available as a 4-season version.
Different materials duvets
Our duvets (240x200 cm and other sizes) are made with various filling materials. The ticking, however, is always made of a cotton variant, whether combed or sateen. The ticking is the outer layer of the duvet. Cotton is a natural and breathable fabric, making it ideal for duvets and other bedding. Furthermore, the ticking of Vandyck duvets is tightly woven for an anti-allergy effect; this helps keep dust mites out.
Duvets can be filled with natural materials like wool and down, or with synthetic materials like microfiber. All these materials are suitable if you tend to get cold easily, but also offer excellent comfort and ventilation if you tend to overheat. However, wool is not used in the Vandyck duvet collection.
Down duvet 240x200 cm
A 240x200 cm duvet with a down filling provides cozy warmth, just like wool. But with the advantage of being super lightweight. A wool duvet feels heavy, and because it's less supple, gaps can appear. A down duvet (especially with goose down) is breathable, moisture-absorbing, and wonderfully warm without feeling heavy. Even a large duvet like 240x200 cm feels as light as a feather.
Goose down is more luxurious than duck down and feels lighter in a higher warmth class. This is because the feathers are larger and contain more fluff for optimal insulation and moisture absorption. Furthermore, the feather stems are very soft or barely noticeable. As a result, you don't feel the goose down poking through the ticking. Vandyck goose down is heat-treated to prevent bacteria and carries the Downpass certificate. A down duvet requires little maintenance; daily fluffing and airing is sufficient. You cannot machine wash a down duvet.
Synthetic duvets 240x200 cm
Do you want to be able to machine-wash your duvet because you like it fresh? Or wash it at 60 degrees for a hypoallergenic duvet? Then choose a 240x200 cm duvet with a synthetic filling. Synthetic duvets are much more advanced these days and don't feel as clammy as they used to. In addition, materials like microfiber and hollow fibers feel just as soft as down, but are usually more affordable.
