Various materials
Vandyck duvet covers are made from various materials, but all contain cotton. However, one cotton duvet cover does not feel the same as another. This is because the cotton is not processed in the same way in every cover. For example, cotton flannel and cotton satin have significantly different properties. A cotton flannel duvet cover is soft and feels almost fluffy, while a cotton satin duvet cover is beautifully smooth and has a slight sheen. This not only feels different against your skin but also gives your bed a different atmosphere and look. Below, you can read more about the types of cotton or other materials our duvet covers are made from, so you can better choose what suits you. Or read our blog: Which duvet cover material is best?
Percale cotton
This variant of cotton (also written as percale or percal cotton) is of high quality with a minimum thread count of 200. It is made from fine cotton yarns woven using a specific technique, resulting in cotton with a matte and smooth surface. A percale cotton duvet cover feels wonderfully soft and crisp. Due to its cooling properties, percale cotton duvet covers are extra comfortable for people who tend to get hot while sleeping.
Cotton satin
This is a luxurious variant of cotton that contributes to a good night's sleep. The weaving technique creates a wonderfully soft feel and a beautiful sheen. This gives cotton satin covers a luxurious look. Another advantage is that designs and colors stand out particularly beautifully against cotton satin. That is why the Satin Printed duvet covers, among others, are made from this cotton.
Flannel duvet cover
This is a third variant of a cotton duvet cover with irresistible comfort. Flannel is made from cotton that is brushed after weaving. This creates the unique downy layer of flannel that provides a wonderfully soft feel, which is especially nice during cold nights. With a 100% flannel You choose a cotton duvet cover for ultimate luxury, but there are also covers where cotton flannel is combined with other natural materials.
Linen
Linen is a natural material that is antibacterial and, like cotton, highly absorbent and breathable. It is made from the flax plant, whose fibers are even stronger than those of cotton. Linen is pleasantly airy and has a rustic, natural look. Although the word "airy" might make you think of a summer duvet cover, a duvet cover made of this material is also comfortable to sleep under in other seasons. linen duvet cover Vandyck usually features percale or satin cotton on the underside for a comfortable sleep experience throughout the night.

A single duvet cover It is used, for example, as a children's duvet cover. 2-person duvet cover
A standard double duvet cover measures 200 x 200/220 cm, and this is also the case in our Vandyck collection. Twin beds
For a large double bed, you choose a larger duvet, namely a lits jumeaux. The twin duvet cover is the largest in our standard collection. It is 240 cm wide, so it is nice and roomy to snuggle under. Washing your new duvet cover
It is important to wash your new duvet cover correctly to preserve its softness and colors for as long as possible. Because the ideal washing method can vary depending on the material, we recommend consulting the washing instructions for your cover, which can be found on the packaging and label. In most cases, washing at 40 degrees is sufficient. Although many covers can be tumble-dried on a low setting, it can be easier to hang them out neatly so that ironing is often not even necessary! This works particularly well for satin cotton duvet covers.
