Are you looking for a comfortable duvet measuring 200x200 cm? Then a duvet from Bath is the perfect choice.&Living is the right choice. We know that a good night's sleep contributes to your overall health. And you won't sleep well in an uncomfortably made bed. A comfortable pillow, a wonderfully comfortable duvet in the right size, and bed linens made of high-quality materials are essential for optimal sleeping comfort.
Our entire bedding range comes from the Vandyck brand, including duvets 200x200. This is for good reason: with Vandyck products, you're guaranteed high quality. Vandyck has been involved in bed linens for decades and has over 100 years of experience in home textiles.
Is 200x200 cm a double duvet?
When searching for bedding that perfectly fits your bed, you'll encounter all sorts of different sizes. This can sometimes be confusing. However, it's important to pay close attention to ensure your new duvet is wide enough. A 200x200 cm duvet is suitable for single use but also spacious enough for couples to sleep comfortably. This is called a double duvet. But be careful: choose a duvet size that is at least 40 cm wider than the width of your mattress, so there's a comfortable overhang on both sides.
We recommend a 200x200 cm duvet for a mattress up to 160 cm wide. This means a 200x200 cm duvet is suitable for a double or three-quarter bed. A three-quarter bed falls somewhere between a double and a single bed and is usually 140 cm wide. While still wide enough for two people, it's an extra comfortable bed for sleeping alone.
Do you have a large bed with a mattress width of more than 160 cm, for example 180 cm? Then this double duvet is too small and we recommend a double duvet of 240x220 cm to purchase. All our duvets Are available in this size. Looking for a twin XL? We can order one for you!
Various fillings for duvet 200x200
A duvet consists of a filling and a cover, which is the outer layer. Our 200x200 duvets are all made with a soft cotton cover. This ensures optimal sleeping comfort because cotton is excellent at breathing and absorbing moisture. The breathability of a cotton cover helps prevent excessive sweating while sleeping.
The filling of your duvet can be made of various materials, both synthetic and natural. The type of filling that suits you depends on your personal sleeping preferences. Examples of synthetic materials include polyester hollow fibers and microfiber. Natural materials include wool, bamboo, or down. These will provide the most cooling comfort if you tend to overheat. That's why every summer duvet is made with a natural filling. However, synthetic materials are now so well-made that they offer excellent ventilation and can be comfortable in any season.
Down comforter
Do you prefer natural materials? Then we recommend a down comforter Down offers excellent insulation while remaining as light as a feather. We offer down duvets in various warmth categories, and even the warmest ones feel wonderfully airy and soft. This is also because Vandyck uses only goose down and feathers. Compared to duck down, goose feathers are larger and fluffier, and they have a soft stem or none at all. Therefore, they are lighter yet comfortably warm.
A down duvet is wonderful as a winter duvet or if you tend to get cold while sleeping. But it also works well as a summer duvet because it's such a light, airy, and breathable material. In that case, choose a duvet from a lower warmth class, such as the Vandyck Summer 95 duvet or the thin part of your 4 seasons duvet.
Vandyck heat-treats its down feathers to combat bacteria. Combined with a tightly woven cover, this creates duvets with anti-allergic properties because it's not an ideal environment for dust mites. You're also choosing ethically sourced goose down from Vandyck, as every duvet is Downpass certified.
Besides optimal insulation, ventilation, moisture absorption, and light weight, a down duvet has the major advantage of being very durable. The high quality and durability explain the higher purchase price of a down duvet. The quality only begins to deteriorate after 6 to 10 years, provided proper care is taken. This means shaking it daily, avoiding direct sunlight, and not beating or sitting on the duvet.
Washable duvet
Looking for a 200x200 duvet that's more affordable? Then take a look at our synthetic duvetsSynthetic materials like microfiber are not only cheaper, but also have the advantage of being washable. Our 200x200 cm synthetic duvets are machine washable at 60 degrees Celsius. Because dust mites can't survive at this temperature, a washable duvet might be the best choice if you suffer from allergies. Because our synthetic duvets are also tumble-dried on a low setting, you can have them back in bed the same day. Do check beforehand whether a 200x200 cm duvet will fit in your washing machine drum so you can wash it at home.
Single or 4 season duvet?
All our 200x200 cm duvets are available as single and all-season duvets, except for the summer duvets. A single duvet is a great choice if the temperature in your bedroom is fairly constant throughout. If not, choose an all-season duvet. This consists of two parts: a warm duvet for colder nights and a duvet with a lower warmth rating. You can also easily connect the two parts to create a wonderfully warm winter duvet. As you can see, you can use an all-season duvet year-round.
