Zomerdrankjes in gezellige glazen

Drinking enough is always important, especially in hot weather. Unfortunately, this can sometimes be neglected when you are busy. Or when you are completely lost in a good book on your daybed, that is also possible. To help yourself, you can upgrade your drinking experience. How do you do that? With beautiful glasses and surprising drinks! For beautiful glasses of good quality we can take care of it, you can fill it yourself. But, we do have a few nice tips for that.

Above you see some glasses of CUVEEThis glass line from Salt&Pepper also includes wine glasses (red, white or without foot), prosecco glasses, champagne glasses and port or liqueur glasses. These names are just names, of course. Because you can put whatever you want in a glass. Use your wine glass for a non-alcoholic drink; that immediately feels more cozy!

Upgrade your water
We all know that water is a good choice to replenish our lost body fluids. However, sometimes you just want something different. In order not to immediately reach for less healthy options, you can make your water just that little bit extra. For example, by adding some ice cubes with the well-known lemon slice or mint sprig. This looks more cheerful and provides a slightly refreshing taste. But have you ever thought about other types of fruit (or vegetables) in your water? Nectarine wedges, cucumber slices, frozen berries, ginger slices… whatever you like.

Pampering moment in a glass
Or take it a step further and put a little more love into your drink. A few minutes in the kitchen and you can create a delicious treat in no time. Don't forget to pour your home made drink in a nice glass for that extra special feeling.

Watermeloen

Whatmelon
Add some frozen watermelon cubes and water to your blender and make your own slushy. To sweeten it up, add orange juice and/or frozen banana slices (if you’re sure your blender is powerful enough for frozen banana). Use coconut water instead of regular water for a tropical twist. And to really make it surprising: lime juice and a little fresh rosemary or mint.

Grapefruit

Grapefruit
Do you like the refreshing bitterness of grapefruit? Then squeeze the juice of a grapefruit into a pan with some pineapple cubes (fresh or frozen) and add +/- 120 ml of water. Add agave, maple syrup or sugar if you want a sweet drink. Let this simmer for about fifteen minutes while stirring regularly and mashing the pineapple cubes with a wooden spoon. Strain this mixture and let it cool before adding some grapefruit juice, sparkling water and ice cubes to finish it off.

Framboos

Raspberry
You can put frozen raspberries in a blender with water for a kind of “slushy”. You can also heat frozen raspberries in a pan and mash them with a wooden spoon, possibly with sweetener. Pass this through a sieve so that you keep the juice and put this in the fridge. When it has cooled down, squeeze a lot of lemon juice and add cold (sparkling) water. Pour this into a glass with some ice cubes and your pink lemonade is ready.

These are just a few ideas for fun drinks. Use them as inspiration and make your own variations. What helps is to always have some fruit in your freezer. This will last longer than fresh fruit and will go a long way. Don't feel like standing in the kitchen? Then just stick to water with a lemon, but in a nice glass!

In addition to Salt&Pepper, Blomus also has beautiful glasses and matching carafes, such as this one from FUUM and BELO.
