In the Netherlands, we are blessed with four completely different seasons, each with its own unique beauty. This also means changing weather conditions, which require us to adapt our lifestyles. Our bed is an example of something that changes significantly with the seasons. Last summer, we wrote about how to make your bed so comfortable. cool As much as possible. But in winter, you want all the extra warmth you can get. We have some tips for that too.
Down comforter
For optimal warmth and comfort, choose a down duvet. The down percentage tells you how much down a duvet contains. The remaining portion is supplemented with feathers. The higher the down percentage, the better the quality. The duvet will be lighter, warmer, more resilient, and more comfortable than one with a lower percentage. The fill weight also indicates the quality: the higher the down, the warmer.
A real winner in our webshop is the Vandyck Excellent 650A duvet with 95% down and a super-light cover (outer side) with an extra-soft finish.
Jersey fitted sheet
While you would choose a fitted sheet made of regular cotton or sateen cotton in the summer, jersey is the way to go in the winter. Jersey Soft Vandyck's fitted sheet is made of 95% combed cotton and is super soft thanks to its aloe vera finish. A jersey fitted sheet is warmer and thicker than a satin or cotton sheet, and also wrinkle-resistant. For even more comfort and warmth, choose the Jersey SupremeBoth variants are available in several colors.
Flannel duvet cover
Flannel, a unique fabric that brings irresistible comfort. Imagine yourself under a duvet cover Flannel, with your head resting on the wonderfully soft fabric. Doesn't that feel like you're sleeping in a warm embrace? With the latest Vandyck collection, it's possible!
&Flannel is made of cotton yarn—very breathable and moisture-regulating—specially woven and brushed afterward. This makes flannel feel super soft and warm. This fall (2023), you'll find 11 different flannel duvet covers in our webshop. Two of these are made of 100% flannel, Como and Garda (pictured above, right). The other versions are a combination of flannel and other natural materials.
An extra layer
It goes without saying: an extra layer provides extra warmth. A plaid or bedspread can provide this, but warmth isn't its only function. It also creates a cozier look and protects your duvet cover from dust and (sun)light. In our webshop and in our store, you'll find throws from both Vandyck as BlomusThe great thing about the Vandyck plaids is that there are matching pillowcases are.
