If you're new to bedding, the variety of sizes can be a bit confusing. But you do want the most comfortable night's sleep possible, so choosing the right size duvet cover is crucial. The size you need depends on the size of your mattress and your duvet.
Make sure you know your mattress and duvet size before buying a new duvet cover. This also applies to a new fitted sheet. Knowing you have a double bed isn't enough information to choose the right size duvet cover. If the dimensions aren't exactly right, you'll simply not sleep as comfortably. Not to mention, making your bed will be a lot more tedious.
Standard sizes of duvet covers
In the Bath&In the Living range you will find the standard sizes duvet covers, given as width x length. For a single bed, this is 140 x 200 cm or 140 x 220 cm. For a double bed or three-quarter bed, this is 200 x 200 cm or 200 x 220 cm. Then there are large double beds, which are called twin beds. For a twin bed, the standard size is 240 x 200 cm or 240 x 220 cm.
As you can see, the width measurement for the bed type in question remains the same, but the length measurement can vary between 200 and 220 cm. This depends on the length of your bed and mattress, which can be 200 cm, 210 cm, or 220 cm. However, you don't need to worry about the length measurement at Bath.&No need to worry about living, because every item in our extensive range of duvet covers is suitable for any mattress size up to 220 cm. This means your duvet cover will always fit both a larger and a shorter duvet. This leaves you with some extra fabric to tuck in at the foot of the bed. Each duvet cover also has a wide bottleneck as a tuck-in flap, creating some extra space.

This way, you both sleep under duvets that are wide enough, and you enjoy extra comfort tailored to your personal preferences.
