In a small space like a toilet, this is therefore certainly worth considering. Disadvantages of a hanging toilet brush holder are the holes in the wall and the loss of flexibility. You cannot change the layout of your toilet area as easily later on, because the toilet brush has a fixed spot.
This is exactly the advantage you get with a freestanding toilet brush holder. Do you need the toilet brush temporarily in another room? Or do you want to rearrange your toilet? Then you can easily move the freestanding holder without leaving any marks on the old spot. This mobility also comes in handy when cleaning the toilet brush and the holder; there is no need to kneel in the corner next to your toilet to clean. Furthermore, you broaden your options in terms of appearance because you can also opt for heavier materials such as natural stone. A natural stone toilet brush holder has a very chic and luxurious look, but is too heavy for wall mounting. In that case, a freestanding toilet brush is the right choice.
Toilet butler
If you really don't want to drill into your tiles, then you are also looking for a solution for your toilet roll holder. In that case, we recommend a toilet butler. This is a portable stand with both a toilet brush and a toilet roll holder; two-in-one! It doesn't take up much space and you don't have to make holes in your tiles. You position the toilet butler so that you can reach the toilet paper from a comfortable seat on the toilet, without having to reach for it or turn around. At what height do you hang a toilet brush?
When you opt for the modern, uncluttered look of a wall-mounted toilet brush, you naturally want to know the best way to do it. At what height should you hang a toilet brush, and how do you determine the best spot? You might be tempted to hang the toilet brush holder as low as possible so that the holder and handle take up as little space as possible. While this is a sound principle, keep in mind a minimum distance of 10 to 15 centimeters above the floor. It is important that you can still easily vacuum and mop underneath the toilet brush holder. During a renovation, it is best to ensure the floor is laid before hanging your toilet accessories. If this is not the case, take the thickness of the tiles into account when determining the height of your toilet brush.
In terms of positioning, mounting on the same wall as the toilet bowl makes the most sense. Here, the toilet brush hangs close to the toilet without being too prominently visible (although that wouldn't be a problem with our designer toilet brushes). In most cases, we recommend the right side.Most people are right-handed, and this allows you to reach the toilet brush handle in the smoothest way when standing in front of the toilet. Of course, space may not permit this, or most people in your family may be left-handed. In that case, to the left of the toilet bowl is the best option.
Attach toilet accessories without drilling
Besides the toilet butler, there is another way to place a toilet brush and other toilet accessories near your toilet without drilling: with glue! There are toilet brushes designed so that you can glue them to the wall. This way, you enjoy the neat look of hanging toilet accessories without having to make holes in your tiles. Do keep in mind, however, that not every type of wall and tile is suitable for this, and that you must purchase the correct adhesive, which is often indicated with the toilet brush. For wall tiles with a lot of relief or a plastered wall, drilling is the best option, and we advise against glue mounting.
