The original Poke Bowl from ASA is ideal for this, with a diameter of 18 cm and a height of 7 cm. ASA's Poke Mini Bowl is the perfect partner for the poke bowl, as a bowl for sauce or a topping. The Poké series was later expanded with a deep plate, An serving dish and a little something smaller bowl for a meal or soup.
These items are available in the colours Ocean, Tamari, Cauliflower and Mangosteen - Wooden chopsticks
Uniquely colored poke bowls
Each ASA Poké Bowl is a unique item, handmade in Portugal. The visible and tactile grooves in the bowl represent the craft. The effect glaze used in the finishing of the Poké tableware creates different colour nuances each time.
The Poké Bowls are available in all sorts of colours and different sizes. The colours can be mixed well to create surprising combinations. For example, you can create a natural look with the lightest colour and brown shade. Or you can go for a maritime atmosphere with the blue shades. Put a few of the brighter colours together and you will create a real party on your table.
Poke bowl recipe
Despite the name Poké, these bowls are of course suitable for all kinds of dishes such as meal soups, pastas, salads, curries or oatmeal porridge.
However, we can't resist giving you ideas for your own poke bowl. A poke bowl is a meal that you can quickly put on the table and with which you can easily change or add ingredients to taste.
The basics
The base of a poke bowl is usually rice. Choose your favorite type of rice or go crazy and use quinoa or noodles as a base!
You can flavour the (rice) base with rice vinegar in which some (brown) sugar and salt have been dissolved. For a surprising sensation in the mouth, serve the rice warm and the other ingredients cold.
The leading role
Originally, super fresh, raw fish is used. Think salmon, tuna, herring or mackerel from the fishmonger. For a slightly easier version, grab smoked salmon, cooked shrimp or canned tuna. Don't like fish? Then choose tofu, tempeh or even crispy chicken pieces.
For example, as a dressing or marinade for the fish you can use ingredients such as sesame oil, soy sauce, wasabi and lime juice.
Vegetables
Preferably use fresh, crisp vegetables as a counterbalance to the warm rice and soft fish. Think cucumber, julienne carrot and radish, crispy red cabbage, bean sprouts, bell pepper and soy beans (edamame). To make your meal a bit more full and hearty, avocado, mushrooms and roasted pumpkin are also tasty options.
Provide bite-sized veggies. This makes eating with chopsticks a lot easier, if you want to.
Toppings
You may have thought you were done, but toppings make your poke bowl complete! For an extra kick, add jalapeño or chili flakes. For a surprising crunch, try fried onions or chopped nuts.In terms of taste, ingredients such as spring onion, fresh mint or coriander, pickled ginger, sesame seeds, nori or wakame (seaweed) go very well with a poke bowl.
The finishing touch could be a sauce. For example Japanese mayonnaise (possibly mixed with wasabi) or sriracha.
