Studio Urban was ready for a makeover. This tableware series from S|P Collection is an old favourite in the Bath&Living range. The earthenware of the past has made way for porcelain, which can withstand a knock or two a little better. The finish is finished with reactive glaze in three unique colours.

Now you might think: “reactive glaze?” No, it is not the case that your tableware will react to you while you are chatting at the dining table. What it does mean is that certain substances in the glaze react to each other during the firing of the porcelain. This creates unique patterns and color nuances. No item in this series looks exactly the same. This contributes to the robust appearance that matches the organic shapes of the tableware.
Playing with color
Concrete, Ebony and Emerald: these are the three completely different colours in which the refreshed Studio Urban line is available. It is precisely because of the difference that it is nice to combine the colours with each other. Shades that are too close to each other can sometimes clash enormously. And too much contrast can become garish. With Concrete, Ebony and Emerald this balance is just right. In addition, the brown tones that are woven through all three colours provide a softening effect.
Dare to step away from the idea that a set has to look uniform. You can play with these three colours and trust that the outcome will be a beautiful whole. Do you find this a bit exciting yourself?
